Queer Joy in the Red Rock State

is a zine exploring the intersections between Hispanic and Latino queer identities in the state of Oklahoma. In the tone of Audre Lorde’s essay “The Erotic as Power,” I seek to magnify the spaces felt inbetween ethnicity and queerness; particularly looking at how Hispanic and Latino LGBTQ+ individuals create their own queer joy in spaces that are dominantly heterosexual and or white.
